Description

Cabinet-mounted earth-fault indicator for low-current ground-fault applications

The EFI-036 is a sensitive earth fault indicator for medium-voltage distribution networks where low earth-fault current must be detected reliably. It can be used in compact substations, pole cabinets, and transition points between cable and overhead sections.

The device is intended to support faster localization of phase-to-ground faults while reducing nuisance indication from normal switching transients and load variations.

Typical applications

  • Low-current earth-fault detection for sensitive networks
  • Separate relay outputs for RTU integration
  • Cable-overhead transition points
  • Configurable reset logic for local and remote operation
Engineering note: Trip thresholds, reset logic, communication architecture, insulation coordination, EMC performance and installation method must be validated against the target feeder, grounding method, protection settings and applicable utility standards before final specification.
